Based on recent experience, we would like to explicitly point out that controls of goods subject to Article 47 of Regulation (EU) 2017/625 ("OCR") can only be controlled at the approved border inspection post where the goods first enter the European Union. Therefore, due to a lack of competence, the Federal Office for Consumer Health (BAVG) is not able to control a consignment with goods of this category at the Vienna border inspection post without a "transfer to" from the local competent authority of the first point of entry having taken place or being available.
