Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2023/1110 shall enter into force on 27.06.2023 (including transitional period in Article 14).

Consignments from third countries or parts of third countries of food and feed of non-animal origin listed in the annexes to Regulation (EU) 2019/1793 as amended are temporarily subject to increased official controls at border inspection posts upon their entry into the European Union and at inspection posts.

In this current revision of Regulation (EU) 2019/1793, in addition to the adaptations in the annexes, Article 1 was also adapted to include consignments that are imported into the EU via other third countries (e.g. in triangular trade, country of origin and country from which the consignments are dispatched to the Union). A separate Annex II No. 3 was created for this purpose.

Please note the current amendments to the Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/1793, on the temporary reinforcement of official controls and on emergency measures in relation to the entry into the Union of certain goods from certain third countries implementing Regulations (EU) 2017/625 and (EC) No 178/2002 of the European Parliament and of the Council, accompanying Regulation (EU) 2023/1110.
